Brutal Babass 2016/2017


"100% Chenin Blanc from vines planted in 1957 on schist soils. Generally, the grapes from this vineyard are made into an off-dry wine called Navine and a sparkling wine called Nuée Bulleuse (in exceptional vintages, a true sweet wine from Chenin is made - My Sweet Navine). Brutal Babass came about because of a blend of the 2016 and 2017 vintages, and sits somewhere in between the two wines. Slow direct pressing of the grapes, with the wine remaining on lees between 6-24 months depending on which vintage. Bottled with around 20-24 grams of residual sugar before fermentation finished, creating light ancestrale-methode bubbles." -Don't Worry
